School Readiness Motor Skills Assessment
I am often asked about the 'typical' development to expect for a 4 year old and 5 year old so I have uploaded my 4 year old and 5 year old motor development checklist which can help you to learn the motor skills that we typically should observe for children in preschool and foundation level.
I recommend using this checklist twice. Firstly, use this checklist at the start of the school year or term. Then after 6 weeks of adding movement breaks in to your classroom, complete this checklist again to track children's improvements.
For movement break ideas be sure to download our School Readiness book. This will include activities to achieve these 4 year old and 5 year old motor development milestones.
