How to support children who are needing additional comfort during this challenging time
In Victoria we are locked down again, for the 4th time. While I don't want to get into a political debate, I do want to raise awareness about the impact that this may be having for children's development as some children have spent over 6 months in lockdown during an important time of their emotional, social, and physical development.
To provide comfort to children during this challenging time, I am encouraging teams to allocate one staff member who adds proprioception, vestibular, and hugs into the classroom to ensure that all children are receiving the emotional comfort that they need at the moment.
Understandably parents like myself are feeling stressed and overwhelmed, so even my children are relying on the comfort of us and their village to help get them through these tricky times.
